The Workers’ Compensation Board of Nova Scotia provides workplace injury insurance to more than 18,000 employers, representing over 300,000 workers across the province. As a key part of this mandate, the WCB is responsible for the promotion of safe workplaces.
Nova Scotia’s workplaces are getting safer, but there are still too many people being hurt or killed on the job. More must be done to prevent injuries and to help injured workers return to their jobs in a safe yet timely way.
We know that safety is a team effort. We work with employers, workers, labour groups, industry associations, safety associations and Government to instill a stronger safety culture in Nova Scotia.
